WHAT IS MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID?

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an internationally recognised training course, designed to teach participants how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide support and assistance.

As approved MHFA England Instructors we currently deliver the following adult courses;

Two Day Course – Become a Mental Health First Aider and the Half Day – Mental Health Aware.

More courses coming soon.

The MHFA Half-Day Course is available for face-to-face or remote delivery, contact us for more details.

Bespoke training sessions including our ‘Introduction to Mental Health and Wellbeing Workshops’ are also available upon request and have both face-to-face and remote delivery options.

WOULD YOU KNOW HOW TO HELP?

We all have mental health, just as we all have physical health. Mental ill health can strike at any time and can affect people from all walks of life. Although things are improving, stigma still exists around mental ill health. As a society, we don’t tend to know how to take care of our mental health like we do our physical health. This means that people may not know how to support a friend, family member or colleague experiencing a mental health issue, or where to go for support with their own mental health.

1 in 4 of us will experience mental ill health in the next 12 months, would you know how to signpost and support your colleague to enable them to receive the appropriate level of care and support that they need?

HOW WOULD MHFA TRAINING BENEFIT MY ORGANISATION?

By attending the Adult Mental Health Two Day Course your organisation will have a named and accredited MHFA England First Aider who can:

• Give your people the tools to keep themselves and their colleagues healthy.

• Encourage them to access support when it’s needed, for a faster recovery.

• Identifying problems sooner, reducing absence and improving productivity.

• Empower people with a long-term mental health issue or disability to thrive in work.

• Stop preventable health issues arising by building a supportive culture around mental health.

All participants receive a MHFA manual to keep and refer to whenever they need it, a line managers handbook with helpful guidance and advice on how to support employees experiencing mental health issues and how to create a mentally healthy workplace and a certificate to say they are a Mental Health First Aider.
